The North Stirlings Pallinup sub-region is home to valuable natural resources and a strong Goreng culture, however, this vital environmental and cultural information is not readily available to educators. This project poses an exciting opportunity to capture this information through engagement with local environmental professionals and the Goreng peoples, resulting in 3 curriculum-linked education packages that will be available for use in local Primary and Secondary Schools. This project has the potential to empower the next generation and inspire them to maintain and protect our local culture and environment.

This whole-of-community, landscape-scale threatened species project will protect and enhance populations of three priority species – Chuditch, Malleefowl and Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo.
Project partners will work collaboratively to deliver a coordinated baiting and shooting program across 16,262 hectares in the high priority macro corridor that connects the Stirling Range and Fitzgerald River national parks. The project will reduce the threat of predation from foxes and cats, and reduce competition and habitat destruction by rabbits, resulting in the improved trajectory of the target priority species.
The Fitz-Stirling macro corridor lies within the Southwest Australia Global Biodiversity Hotspot. The 80-km macro corridor links two very high-value nature conservation areas and is considered among the highest priority corridors for conservation action in the region.

NSPNR is undertaking a joint project with the Gillamii Centre called Restoring an Ancient Landscape - Through Community & Carbon. The project will restore 550 hectares of large-scale, high-value, biodiverse vegetation on private properties that have been strategically selected to improve natural systems that are critical to ecosystem function. The project will include 55 kilometres of fencing over various properties to exclude stock from grazing the revegetation.
