FRRR and Sally Foundation support restoration of the Pallinup River

NSPNR's project, Waterways Restoration- Connecting the Pallinup River, its People and Culture, has been granted funding by the FRRR Sally Foundation Trailblazer Development Fund.

NSPNR staff members Dimity McMorran and Freya Spencer attended the ABC Heywire Trailblazer Summit in February in Canberra to present the Waterways Restoration project to Members of Parliament, senators, and community leaders. Their presentation was very well received, and NSPNR will receive additional support from FRRR (Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal) and the Sally Foundation that have collaborated with ABC Heywire to help communities to take action on the ideas generated by the young Australians who attended the Heywire Regional Youth Summit.

On behalf of our organisation, staff members Dimity McMorran and Freya Spencer headed over to Canberra last week to present our Pallinup River Restoration Project to parliament as part of the ABC 2020 Heywire Trailblazer Competition.

ABC Heywire proudly recognised 18 emerging leaders from across the country who are each fighting the fight as winners of the 2020 Trailblazers competition.

Spring 2019 Newsletter Out Now

Welcome to our spring newsletter. I commented in our last newsletter that even though we were having a tough start you never know what will happen, and as you look around now our district looks a picture.

Early frosts may have had an effect on some crops, but recent rainfall has put most in a great position coming into spring and I trust you enjoy the benefits of your hard labour.

Spring is a great time of year and there is always a lot on offer to improve your knowledge and skills, so I hope you keep in mind the opportunities NSPNR offers to add value to your business.

Autumn 2019 Newsletter Out Now

Welcome to our latest newsletter. Thankfully as I write we have received some rain to give the sown crops a chance to get a start and stimulate green feed again. As is common, there is a lot of variety throughout our region, but I hope we all receive that good opening rain soon.

Even though there has been a lot of dry seeding, it has been pleasing to see landholders mindful of protecting our precious land resources and choosing stable paddocks until opening rains arrive. Don’t let the ball drop because one big wind event can devastate dry and fragile soil, and many are not out of the woods yet.

Summer 2019 Newsletter Out Now

Welcome to our latest newsletter. I trust you have had a great break since harvest and are looking forward to the challenges of 2019.

NSPNR will be facing challenges in the coming year, just like we are in our farming enterprises, but we are thankful for the wonderful work our staff has been doing, hectic at times with the new funding arrangements, but we look forward to facing the challenges ahead with them.
